Piʻikū is a nonprofit helping Hawaiʻi locals break into tech through paid roles in UX, engineering, and product management. It bridges the gap for career changers and early career starters, empowering them to grow professionally while giving back to the community.
As Piʻikū’s internship program grew, the existing website became a barrier to attracting potential interns and investors. It lacked clear, detailed information about the program, forcing visitors to reach out for basic details, which slowed engagement and limited its effectiveness in supporting the program’s expansion
To enhance Piʻikū’s ability to attract talent and funding, I redesigned two key website pages: the Internship Page and the Invest in Us Page.
I improved content clarity by adding microcopy, ensuring consistency with Piʻikū’s brand voice, and making the page more informative for potential interns.
I created this page from scratch, structuring it to effectively communicate Piʻikū’s mission, impact, and long-term business goals to potential investors. I applied UX principles to guide funders through the decision-making process, highlighting Piʻikū’s 5-year vision and key achievements.
• Increased Engagement: The redesigned Internship Page provided clearer, more compelling information, improving its ability to attract and convert potential interns.
• Enhanced Investor Appeal: The Invest in Us Page established a strong foundation for future grant applications, clearly communicating Piʻikū’s impact and funding needs.
•Strategic Business Alignment: The redesign ensured that both pages served Piʻikū’s broader goals of growing its community and securing funding.
Due to the rapid timeline, we didn’t have immediate analytics, but early feedback from stakeholders indicated the new content was more effective in communicating Piʻikū’s value and mission. The structure also provided a scalable foundation for future website improvements.
